ETTAC is a regional nonprofit agency that enables people with disabilities in 24 counties of East Tennessee to participate in the mainstream of society through innovative uses of technology. Children with disabilities and their families are invited to attend Toy Tech, a holiday party in which children who cannot play with off-the-shelf toys because of their disabilities can select a specially adapted toy of their choice. Monday, December 8th's at Central Baptist Church, 5364 N. Broadway in Knoxville from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Families should call (865) 219-0130 ahead of time to register their children for an adapted toy even if they cannot attend the party. Toy Tech includes games, food, activities and adapted piñata for all children and their families who attend.
CASA of the Tennessee Heartland provides trained volunteer advocates who serve as the voice of abused and neglected children in juvenile court. If you are interested in volunteering contact http://www.casatnh.org/.

MEDIC Regional Blood Center has issued an emergency blood need for all blood types, especially O Negative and A Positive. Blood donated to MEDIC stays in our local coverage area of 21 counties and 29 hospitals. All donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more, and have positive identification. Knox County Public Library now offers Tumblebooks is a fun and interactive library of animated, talking story books for preschoolers, beginner readers and older independent readers. The TumbleBook Library is available at all library locations or online at http://www.knoxlib.org/ with a Knox County Public Library card and pin. For more information, call 573-8240.
Donate your old computer to the East Tennessee Technology Access Center. They'll be adapted for use by people with disabilities. For information on acceptable computers call 219-0130.
